Na Pali Pirates leaves from Kikiaʻola Small Boat Harbor, which is located at the very far end of the island on the west side. We understand this can be a bit out of the way from where you might be staying on the island so we want to give you a few suggestions where to stay; while making it worth your while to be on the west side!

Since our boats depart from Kikia’ola Harbor in Kekaha at 9:30 (check in being at 9AM), it is important to allot an ample amount of travel time to ensure prompt arrival at the harbor.

A fun and innovative way is to rent a camper van from our friends at Kauai Camper Rental. The van would act as your rental car, a place to stay, kitchen, and they come equipped with all the essentials you would need for your Kauai vacations (beach chairs, linens, and even a bbq!) For instance, you could camp either at the beach at Salt Pond Park or up in Kokee State Park on the west side and be close to the harbor for the early morning departure! Its an amazing opportunity to discover that being a minimalist is grounding and the true key to happiness! There is nothing quite like waking up on a beautiful beach in Hawaii with just the essentials and the ones you love.

If you are looking for more of a pampered stay, the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa is another favorite of ours. Located on the south side of Kauai in Poipu (about a 45 minute drive from the harbor,) the Hyatt boasts some of the most elaborate views overlooking Shipwrecks Beach. With several relaxing pools, delicious restaurants, and the Anara Spa, you will be pampered from head to toe by the time you leave Kauai! With the added benefit of being in the heart of Poipu, you could walk to the nearby shopping centers for shopping and additional dining.

A more island central hotel is the Hilton Garden Inn Kauai Wailua Bay. This hotel is about an hour and 5 minute drive from the harbor. It is however, the most central hotel for accessing both the north shore, south side, and most importantly the west side (where our tour departs!) With a beautiful view of the Wailua Bay, the Hilton Garden Inn Kauai is one of the newest and most recently updated hotels on the east side of the island!
