Top 5 Must Do on Kauai
Eat Local
Kauai has an abundance of freshly grown local fruit and vegetables and Kauai-made products. Some of our favorite places to eat local are Cafe Lure in Waimea, Koloa Fish Market, and Aloha ‘Aina Juice Cafe in Puhi.
Hike in Koke’e
Koke’e State Park is a great place for day hiking. The trails are full of lush native vegetation, unparalleled views of Waimea Canyon and Na Pali coast, and many native birds. Our favorites are Awa’awapuhi or Alakai Swamp trail, but there are many trails to choose from.
Visit Hanalei Town
Hanalei is the quintessential Kaua’i town. Shop for gifts, visit the farmers market on Saturday, have a mai tai at famous Tahiti Nui, and be sure to top off your visit with a jump off the Hanalei Pier!
Kayak Up Wailua River
Kauai is the only Hawaiian island with navigable rivers. You can kayak or paddleboard up the river. It’s a great workout and fun for the whole family.
See Na Pali Coast
The number one must do activity on Kauai. With 17 miles of majestic coastline, there are a number of ways you could explore Na Pali – hiking, kayaking, boating, or a helicopter ride; but we are biased to boat tours! You get to see the entire coastline, plus get up close into all of the sea caves, snorkel/swim and encounter lots of marine life.
