Thrilling Days at Sea
Weather conditions may not always be ideal, especially during the winter months. But what is it really like? Of course, safety is our first priority, and we will always make sure conditions are safe enough to go out. However, some days are more thrilling than others. Here are some answers to help prepare yourself for the adventure.
How is the ride out? – The ride out can be very physically demanding and you may feel like you’ve worked out muscles you never even knew you had! Essentially, you are gripping a rope with both hands for the entire ride, while launching waves and doing donuts. It is not for the faint of heart so come prepared for a true adventure ride.
Will I get wet?– Yes, yes, and yes! haha. It’s kind of like Splash Mountain at Disneyland. Thrilling and wet!
What Should I wear?- Swimwear, workout pants or board shorts, t-shirt, sunglasses, and a wind breaker or light rain jacket should do the trick! The key is to dress in layers as the weather changes rapidly here.
Where should I sit on the boat?– The front of the boat is the most exciting place to sit. It’s similar to riding a mechanical bull. If you have a harder time gripping the ropes or want a smoother ride, sit closer to the Captain.
Should I bring my camera?– On a rough day, I personally would leave that buggah at home but ultimately it’s up to you. We do have dry bags to store items in but getting your camera in and out of it can be a hassle when the sea is rough. Not to mention trying to stabilize the camera can be nearly impossible on some days. Phone cameras and gopros are usually your best bet.
Will I still have a good time?- If you love a good adventure, you’re going to have the time of your life! The Na Pali is GORGEOUS rain or shine and you’ll get the chance to meet some other pretty cool travelers. Some of our most fun tours have been in the most exciting conditions!
What if I want a less physically demanding boat tour?– Don’t worry, we got you! Our sister company Na Pali Experience offers the exact same tour but on a 6 passenger boat with cushioned seats for a slightly higher cost. This is a great option for families or those looking for higher comfort levels.
All in all, come prepared, come stoked, and you’ll have a great time!
